Apple Pie Ingredients
7 Cups Apples, Peeled And Sliced
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
1/2 Cup Sugar
3 Tablespoons Flour
3/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon Nutmeg
2 Nine Inch Uncooked Pie Crust
1 Beaten Egg
2 teaspoons Water Or Milk
Directions For Apple Pie
Preheat oven to 425°
Peel and remove core from apples. Slice 1/4 inch thick
In a large bowl, combine apples, lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss well to combine and set aside
Line a pie plate with one crust. Fill with apple mixture
Take the remaining crust and gently place it over the apple mixture
Seal the edge by gently pinching the top and bottom crusts together. Remove excess dough
Cut 5 slits in the top crust. Mix beaten egg with water or milk. Brush on top crust and sprinkle with sugar
Place pie on a baking pan lined with parchment paper to catch the drippings
Bake for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 375° and bake an additional 35-40 minutes or until the crust is golden. If the crust gets too dark cover the edge with foil
Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream if desired
